From onyeibo at schemefusion.com Fri Sep 3 12:08:07 2021 From: onyeibo at schemefusion.com (Onyeibo Oku) Date: Fri, 3 Sep 2021 13:08:07 +0100 Subject: [Members] Breaking Silence Message-ID: <20210903130807.64181ea1@asusprime.schemefusion.com> Good afternoon everyone, I trust we are all in good health despite the effects of the COVID pandemic. It has been silent on this mailing list for a long time. I am curious about other subscribers. Are you still there? How about an exchange to excite our servers? My name is Onyeibo. I am an open-source person. I contribute to the Fedora Project. I use the product as well (i.e. Fedora Linux, Rawhide edition). I am enthusiastic to see the widespread adoption of open-source tools in Nigeria. Has anyone else noticed that open-source tools are mostly absent in our school curricula? Is it that boring? Perhaps, our people are not yet seeing how much they are missing out. I still try to convince people to prefer open-source tools. Nigerians are particularly hard to convince. That is my opinion, of course. Perhaps, others on this list may have a different experience. What is your story? How do we get our people to embrace open-source ideologies? The world is evolving around us. The sooner we grab liberating tools, the better for all of us. Eager to hear from everyone. Onyeibo ------- @onyetwo (Twitter) @twohot (GitLab & FOSS Communities)
